Gillian is responsible nationally for the firm’s operational and human resources functions, and supports the leadership team in the development and implementation of innovation and client service delivery strategy. Prior to undertaking the dual roles of National Operations Manager and National People & Culture Manager, Gillian was head of the CLF Family Law Team and worked as a family lawyer (Accredited Specialist) for over twenty years.
Having held senior leadership roles within law firms for the last sixteen years, Gillian has an interest in positive firm process development to support exemplary client service and enable lawyers to thrive in a changing legal environment. She is passionate about creating inclusive workplaces that are psychologically and culturally safe environments for everyone.
Gillian has managed national legal teams while working in Sydney, Canberra, and Newcastle. She has held committee memberships with regulatory bodies, not for profit organisations and providers of pro bono legal services. Gillian has volunteered with community legal centres and pro bono legal services programs, the latter with a focus on access to legal services for women, clients with a CALD background or those experiencing homelessness or domestic violence situations.
Gillian holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Politics) and Diploma of Legal Practice.
Gillian acknowledges the past injustices and ongoing inequalities experienced by our First Nations people since invasion and colonisation. She supports acknowledging truth in history and the impact of intergenerational trauma in relation to the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
